OUR PROGRAMS & EVENTS

The Melrose Elementary PTO is organized by the school’s parents and teachers who are committed to fostering an environment of community at Melrose. We raise funds jointly with the school to promote continued growth and success in all aspects of student life.

The PTO’s fundraising efforts directly support these essential Melrose Elementary programs:

1:1 Technology

Melrose leads the way with a 1-to-1 program that utilizes technology as a powerful tool to investigate, collaborate, and bring ideas to life. Melrose students grades K-2 receive iPads and grades 3-5 Macbook laptops.

Science Lab with Makerspace

A recently unveiled extension to the science lab includes a new makerspace where students can work hands-on to complete science experiments and engineering projects.

Garden Ranger

Students are engaged through a seed to table curriculum provided by EnrichLA in an outdoor classroom setting.

Visual Arts

All students experience a custom designed visual arts program with disciplines such as painting, drawing and photography.

Choral Music

Choral music instruction is provided using a multicultural approach where students perform in two seasonal recitals each school year.

5th Grade Ballroom Dancing

All 5th grade students have an opportunity to learn ballroom dancing through a partnership with Conga Kids. Melrose 5th grade teams have placed 1st two times at city-wide ballroom dance competitions!

Staffed School Library
